If you are not the greatest looking guy or maybe not even on the average scale, there is always room for improvement. The goal here is not to turn you into a male model, but to at least get you into the average category. Remember, with all the other quality characteristics working for you, you don’t need to rely on your looks alone. There are plenty of average looking guys out there who can pick up women with above average results. If you haven’t noticed, take a more perceptive look next time when you are out at a local nightspot. Most guys that know how to attract girls, take a little more extra time when it comes to their looks. Whatever they may be (below average, average or above average) you should be able to improve your looks to another level.

Lets start with your hair. Is it working for you? Are you trying to hide anything? Are you wearing it the way your parents want you to? Are you styling it like you did back in high school? These could be signs of a need for an improvement. Talk to those you trust and find out what might look better for you. You could find a salon with a stylist you trust and ask her to make some suggestions. Ask her what type of cut would work best with your hair. If you’re not having much success with your hair stylist, then try a more upscale salon. Some women spend in excess of $100-$200 on a regular basis for haircuts, coloring, etc. They do this because they think there is a difference. I definitely wouldn’t spend that much, but $20 - $30 is not that outrageous.

For once, give up your control and try something different! IT GROWS BACK! When you’re done, give it a chance. Find out what other women think, but make sure they are those whose opinions you trust. If the haircut didn’t work out, wait a month or so and try another salon/stylist. I guarantee there is one out there that will work for you. And if the price is out of your budget, wait longer between cuts. A good haircut will look better longer than a bad haircut; go figure! And it also helps that your look will change. Women don’t notice men who always look the same. In addition, you may get more compliments on your hair at 4 weeks out rather than 2. This will give you more room to improve. One last thing, don’t go cheap on the tip, unless you don’t plan on returning. She will make sure she spends more time with you!

In order to succeed with women, you must look the part. How you dress will greatly impact how well you attract women. It may sound shallow, but it goes both ways. Men look at women and judge their appearance just as well as women look at men and judge their appearance. There are many different fashion senses, but you must fit the part of the woman you are most attracted to. I asked women: When it comes to guys’ clothes, what do they often fail to address? Here are what some responders said:

"How clean guys shoes are, for example, will tell a lot about them. Dirty white tennis shoes leave much to be desired. If sandals are worn, the cleanliness of the feet and toes (nails included) can be a giveaway as to the type of person you are hygienically."

"When your wardrobe and hair looks exactly like it did 10-20 years ago then you need a clue how to attract girls. What we like: when the entire package is put together and you scream confidence not college kegger. Oh and no socks with sandals... ever!!!"

"Definitely the pants they wear...some guys jeans are too tight, or too saggy, or too up the crotch...and they don't even notice! Ah!!! Also, PLEASE wear the right shoes...nothing bright and quirky!"

"Choosing variety, and not wearing clothing that are so baggy. All my last boyfriends ever wore were the same six t-shirts and like three pairs of jeans, most of them really worn out and most of them black. It was really boring and pathetic looking. I realize that there is unfortunately not much variety in men's clothing that is sold, but guys should at least try to have a couple of different kinds of pants, and try to keep a clean-cut look."

If you are attracted to sophisticated business type women, you should coordinate your wardrobe to a more upscale business or dressy look. If you are attracted to Gothic or punk style women, then dress accordingly as well. Either way, make sure you don’t skimp on your clothing. Look around and see how the men are dressed who appear to have success with these women. Take the time to purchase and wear the types of clothes that will improve your looks and get you noticed. Women pay very close attention to this. If not, then why does the women’s department far outweigh the amount of clothing and styles over the men’s department? Why are there so many fashion and style magazines that women purchase? Why do women need a separate closet to house all their shoes? It’s because they dress to impress and they expect some effort in return.

Although keeping your wardrobe constantly updated and fresh can be expensive, there are ways to keep it in your budget without breaking out the credit cards. You just have to do some tricky budgeting. Think about it. One weekend out with the guys can cost you the same as a new outfit and a night in with your date. Home- cooked dinner and desert included. When shopping for your clothes, I highly suggest a second opinion.

There is one simple solution to picking out the wrong type of clothing. Go right to the source and take a woman with you shopping. Guaranteed not to fail! You may think you have great taste, but so do so many other men who really don’t. Here is what I suggest. Find a girl that you admire or trust with your fashion decisions and ask her to take you shopping. A friend, your sister, a co-worker, or even the girl who sits next to you in one of your classes will suffice. Not only will this be easy, but you will probably have to calm her down from all the excitement. NEW FLASH… women LOVE to shop as much as they LOVE to dress people up! It all started when they were young with Barbie and Ken! If you can’ t find a girl to help you shop then you will have to settle for the hot girl working the floor at the clothing store in the mall. Either way, they will give you priceless advice on what looks good on you and help you improve your looks likewise. If you want to attract women now, get up and start improving your looks!

In addition to your wardrobe, make sure you get some of the better men's cologne while you’re at it.
